FIELD WORK
From the ground up stories of people sustaining,
adapting, and protecting

The most important stories rarely happen in negotiating rooms, but rather in taro fields and fishing communities, in village nurseries and along flooded coastlines — in the places where people are doing the daily work of sustaining, protecting, and providing for their communities. This is the space I return to again and again, because it is where the beating heart of the world can be found.
Global decisions filter down to this level, but I have seen that communities are not waiting for those decisions to save them, they are drawing on generations of knowledge, adapting to what is changing, and building something resilient from the ground up. That is the story this work tries to tell.
